Passivhaus Development

We have recently been appointed to work on a feasibility study for 4/5 houses in Surrey that are very energy efficient. So much so, the developer is hoping we can achieve the Passivhaus standard, which is essentially a method for constructing highly energy-efficient buildings. Typically, a Passive House can achieve energy savings of up to 90% compared with existing buildings and over 75% compared with the average new build.

You can read about Passivhaus here.

This type of project sits right in the sweet spot of what we like to work on. Housing that is both beautiful and energy efficient.

The project also has a commercial element attached to it in the form of a health and well being centre. It’s going to be an interesting project, not least because part of the site is in a flood-risk zone, which will require careful planning and consideration.

Keep an eye on our blog for further details as this exciting project gets underway.
